Advanced Medical Solutions seeing growth in 2013

Advanced Medical Solutions has presented its pre-close trading update for the first half of 2013, during which the firm maintained its positive start to the year.

In the six months ending on June 30th 2013, the company's branded direct business unit experienced strong sales of its ActivHeal, LiquiBand and Resorba products, while its branded distributed division recorded an encouraging international performance.

Meanwhile, the original equipment manufacturing business's silver alginate range of products was able to far exceed the growth rate of the overall market.

The bulk materials unit, by contrast, saw relatively flat revenues, but this was largely due to one prominent customer delaying some of its orders, meaning performance is expected to pick up in the second half of the year.

Advanced Medical Solutions' report said: "The reorganisation of the group into four business units is delivering results. The board confirms that it expects both revenue and profitability for the full year 2013 to be in line with current market expectations."

Founded in 1991 in Cheshire, Advanced Medical Solutions currently bases its manufacturing operations in four countries and employs more than 400 people.
