Novartis Animal Health donates to Prince’s Countryside Fund
Novartis Animal Health has provided the Prince's Countryside Fund with a donation of 5,000 pounds to help support the rural economy.
The funding will be used to help farmers who have suffered financially as a result of the weather over the past twelve months, in particular the late arrival of spring and the cold weather during lambing season in April.
Trends such as these have impacted growing conditions and contributed to the spread of diseases such as fluke, which – combined with the high cost of feed – have created a rise in demand for financial relief from the Prince's Countryside Fund.
Gaynor Hillier, general manager for UK and Ireland at Novartis Animal Health, said: "The farming industry is the lifeblood of the countryside and it has been under huge pressure over the last 12 months. All of us involved in the food chain industry should help where we can."
To date, the charity organisation has donated 2.1 million pounds in grants and supported 60 projects across the UK, thereby helping more than 40,000 people.
