Owen Mumford receives Private Business Award nominations

Owen Mumford has been shortlisted for a pair of accolades at the forthcoming Private Business Awards for 2013, which will be presented in London this September.

The medical technology firm has been nominated for the exporter of the year award, recognising the success of its worldwide operations, with more than 85 percent of its products exported to almost 60 countries.

It has also been included on the shortlist for the family business of the year award, a prize presented to companies that can balance the needs and relationships of its owners with its desire to become more successful.

Owen Mumford's founders Ivan Owen and John Mumford are still members of the company's board more than 60 years after launching the business, while their sons Mark Owen and Adam Mumford are both directors.

A company statement said: "Owen Mumford has got to where it is today by being pioneers and inventors of medical devices that are used throughout the world and continue to be manufactured here in the UK."

This comes after the firm claimed two prizes at the Oxfordshire Business Awards last month.
