Animalcare reports strong performance for 2012-13
Animalcare has issued a pre-close trading statement for the 12 months ending June 30th 2013, during which it performed in line with expectations.
The firm experienced year-on-year growth of 11 percent during 2012-13, coming during a time when sales of veterinary medicines for companion animals were flat in the UK, meaning Animalcare is significantly outperforming the market.
Its core licensed veterinary medicines group saw particularly strong results, with revenues up by 22 percent on the previous year, while three new products were launched during the period and a fourth received marketing authorisation.
Key events of the last 12 months included the appointment of Dr Iain Menneer as the organisation's new chief executive officer in January 2013, succeeding Stephen Wildridge.
Animalcare was also able to smoothly relocate to a new facility in York in March, a move that will provide it with a more efficient working environment and a greater capacity for growth.
The company said: "The group remains firmly on track with its stated strategy of investing in intellectual property protected products and services that will deliver future sustainable growth, supported by Animalcare's sound cash position."
