Source BioScience begins discussions over Vindon Healthcare takeover

Source BioScience has announced that it is at an advanced stage of discussions with the board of Vindon Healthcare over a possible takeover.

Vindon Healthcare is a leading provider of controlled environment services and products for the pharmaceutical and life sciences, which Source BioScience is hoping to acquire for 12.2 million pounds.

The management team at Source BioScience has identified the company as being a strategically beneficial acquisition target, due to the breadth of its product and service offerings, the expertise it can provide and the additional market opportunities this will open up in the US.

A statement from the firm said: "The combination of Source BioScience and Vindon Healthcare will provide complementary infrastructure and technology platforms to further crystallise opportunities for organic growth."

This comes after the firm launched a new overnight service for DNA sequencing to customers in Scotland last month, which will be available to research groups in and around Edinburgh and Glasgow.
