Servier provides research grant to London-based scientist

23rd July 2013

Servier has announced the latest winner of its Servier Research Grant in Hypertension, which is presented every two years in association with the European Society of Hypertension (ESH).

Assessing a field of nine candidates, a jury selected by the ESH chose Dr Stefano Masi – who is affiliated with the Institute of Cardiovascular Science at University College London and Great Ormond Street Hospital – as the winner for 2013.

He will use the grant of 30,000 euros (25,800 pounds) to finance a project entitled 'Central haemodynamics and end-organ damage: association and determinants'.

Servier has been collaborating with the ESH to present this grant biennially since 2003, with the aim of encouraging research into cardiovascular medicine.

It is given to a selected European research proposal in the field of hypertension and related diseases that provides a focus on end-organ damage and other biomarkers.

Servier also presented its Pierre Delmas Prize to Italy's Professor Maria-Luisa Brandi earlier this month, in recognition of her contributions to the study of bone and mineral diseases.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801615492-ADNFCR
