Welch Allyn elects new board member
Welch Allyn has announced the appointment of Vincent Caponi to its board of directors, working alongside the eight existing members of the board.
Mr Caponi is the executive chairman of the board at St Vincent Health and a senior vice-president at Ascension, boasting more than 38 years of healthcare industry experience.
He is the former chief executive officer of St Vincent Health and played a central role in developing the organisation into a 22-hospital system, as well as one of the largest employers in the US state of Indiana.
Overseeing the integration of eight critical access hospitals, multiple joint ventures, hospital expansions and affiliations with health providers and community partners, Mr Caponi will be able to lend extensive expertise in healthcare leadership matters.
Steve Meyer, president and chief executive officer at Welch Allyn, said: "He has an extensive experience in healthcare administration, which will be a great benefit to Welch Allyn during these times of rapid change in our industry."
Earlier this month, the company expanded its product range with the launch of its new CP 50 and CP 150 connectivity-ready electrocardiograph devices in the US.
