Reckitt Benckiser sees further growth in first half of 2013
Reckitt Benckiser has announced its financial results for the first six months of 2013, during which it generated revenues of 4.99 billion pounds.
This represented a six percent year-on-year increase on a constant exchange rate basis, with the company's focus on its health and hygiene power brands continuing to yield positive results.
Within its health portfolio, the firm's Mucinex and Durex brands achieved excellent performances, while its efforts to expand its presence in high-growth markets such as China have also proved successful.
Reckitt Benckiser's recent strategic mergers and acquisitions have also proven beneficial, with the acquisition of high-quality brands from Schiff helping to strengthen the company's portfolio.
Rakesh Kapoor, chief executive officer of Reckitt Benckiser, said the results "give us confidence that we can achieve full-year total revenue growth at the upper end of the five to six percent range while maintaining adjusted operating margins".
Last month, the firm allied with Save the Children to launch a new scheme that aims to bring down the rate of under-fives dying as a result of diarrhoea.
