BCF Technology launches bovine foetal sexing guide

14th August 2013

BCF Technology has announced the launch of a new bovine foetal sexing guide, which has been made available as a free download via the company's website.

The quick guide provides advice on many of the skills required for foetal sex determination using ultrasound and includes detailed annotated images, tips on positioning the foetus and step-by-step instructions.

Using ultrasound for foetal sexing is important for herd management, as it can allow producers to estimate the number of replacement heifers, further justify the culling of a cow with chronic disease or determine pricing for a sale or purchase.

BCF in-house vet Kimberley Palgrave, who created the guide, said: "Hopefully this guide can help people feel more assured in their technique and enable them to obtain additional information that the farmer can use in their herd management programme."

The company also recently announced the launch of View Cloud Web, an innovative online picture archiving and communication system for use in the storage and sharing of diagnostic images.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801625181-ADNFCR
