Welch Allyn launches charity campaign with Heart to Heart International
Welch Allyn has teamed up with Heart to Heart International to launch a joint charitable initiative called Ripple Effect.
This scheme will see the company providing up to $125 (79.80 pounds) in credits to Heart to Heart International when medical students purchase certain Welch Allyn diagnostic instruments.
Using these credits, Heart to Heart International will purchase Welch Allyn devices that will assist with its ongoing aid distribution efforts around the world, helping to deliver care to some of the world's poorest nations.
Welch Allyn is also launching a Facebook contest to tie in with the campaign, giving a pair of students the opportunity to take part in a global humanitarian service trip alongside physicians and aid workers from Heart to Heart, plus Welch Allyn volunteers.
David Allyn, director of corporate social responsibility at Welch Allyn, said: "Welch Allyn is proud to offer a way for medical students to start making a difference in people's lives long before their first residency."
Last month, the company reported on the success of its annual Show of Hands volunteer campaign, which saw employees of the firm assisting various community initiatives in the US.
