Pegasus to promote IBS therapy for Boehringer Ingelheim

21st August 2013

Pegasus has won a new contract with Boehringer Ingelheim to promote an irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) therapy in the UK.

After edging out competitors in a four-way pitch, the agency has been presented with a retained brief to deliver a UK PR programme for the over-the-counter brand Buscopan, reports PRWeek.

Efforts will be made to communicate to IBS sufferers the role the product can play as an antispasmodic treatment as part of their ongoing management of the condition, while also providing practical help and support to patients.

The agency will report to Buscopan brand manager Hazel Richards, who said Pegasus had demonstrated a strong understanding of the brand, its target audience and the media environment.

Associate director Chris Webb, who will lead the account at Pegasus, added: "Not only will this reinforce the product as the gold standard treatment, but it will also help the brand build an emotional connection with IBS sufferers."

This comes after Pegasus was ranked fifth in a list of the UK's biggest health PR consultancies by PRWeek earlier this week.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801627830-ADNFCR
