Sirona’s prepCheck performs well in pilot study
Sirona Dental Systems has reported positive data from a pilot study in Germany of its new analysis system prepCheck.
Dental students at the University of Frankfurt have been working with prepCheck since the beginning of the year, finding it to be not only easy to use, but helpful to the learning process.
A computer-assisted analysis tool for prosthetic and conservative application, prepCheck can be used during both the preclinical and clinical stages of dental school and makes it easy for students to assess relevant parameters of their preparations.
It therefore facilitates uniform, reproducible measurement values, with the students who tested the system recommending it for further usage.
Klaus Jockel, head of the department of individual solutions in the treatment centre division at Sirona, said: "Basically, the system shows what the dentist needs to see at first glance when viewing a preparation; individual parameters are assessed as to whether they are clinically acceptable or not."
This comes after the manufacturer earned a 2013 red dot award for product design for its Cerec Omnicam intraoral scanner last month.
