Unilever and CPSL launch environmental awards programme
Unilever has allied with the Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (CPSL) to launch a new environmental awards scheme for young entrepreneurs.
The Unilever Sustainable Living Young Entrepreneur Awards will be open to anyone aged 30 years or under with innovative and practical solutions to help make sustainable living commonplace.
A total of more than 200,000 euros (168,300 pounds) in financial support and individually tailored mentoring is on offer to participants, with seven finalists set to take part in a development programme and workshop to refine their ideas.
The overall winner will be presented with the HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize on January 30th 2014.
Unilever chief executive officer Paul Polman said: "There is no better way to use our energy, innovation and resourcefulness than spending it trying to create a better future for all in a world we want."
This comes after the firm allied with the University of Liverpool to launch joint research into renewable chemicals for use in the production of home and personal care products last month.
