SonoSite receives EU approval for X-Porte Ultrasound Kiosk
SonoSite has announced that its innovative new imaging device the X-Porte Ultrasound Kiosk has been granted European CE Mark approval.
The device is the first commercially available ultrasound kiosk in the world and will be available in both stationary and detachable use models, helping to improve access to point-of-care ultrasound visualisation.
It utilises SonoSite's brand new proprietary Extreme Definition Imaging technology, which significantly reduces visual clutter from side-lobe artefacts that typically affect ultrasound imaging and allows for much higher resolutions than was previously possible.
Other benefits of the X-Porte include its groundbreaking visual learning guides and 3D animations, its multi-touch gesture-driven user interface and its slender profile.
SonoSite's president and chief executive officer Kevin Goodwin said: "This is a major accomplishment for SonoSite and a defining moment in the next phase of our innovation strategy."
The manufacturer is a leading provider of medical imaging technology and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fujifilm last year.
