Sanofi included in two new global CSR indices
Sanofi has had its strong corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance validated by inclusion in two leading global sustainability indices.
It was one of six pharmaceutical companies to be featured in the World Dow Jones Sustainability Index, making the list for the seventh consecutive year.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Index assesses companies' economic, social, societal and environmental performance in 22 distinct areas and is the most recognised international sustainability index used by investors.
Additionally, Sanofi was included in the newest Climate Disclosure Leadership Index, improving its score to 97 out of 100, up from 93 the prior year.
Christopher Viehbacher, chief executive officer of Sanofi, said: "These successes are a tribute to all our employees and their ongoing commitment to sustainability. Corporate social responsibility is an integral part of our corporate strategy and how we do business every day around the world."
Earlier this month, Sanofi and subsidiary Genzyme announced that their new multiple sclerosis therapy Lemtrada has been ratified in Europe, following on from the recent approval of Aubagio.
