Fisher and Paykel to launch Pilairo Q nasal pillows mask

Fisher and Paykel has announced the launch of Pilairo Q – a new nasal pillows mask for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea – at a recent investor day in Sydney.

The product builds on the existing success of the Pilairo brand and has been designed with a focus on quietness and versatility, with initial launches planned in Australia, Canada and the US in the coming weeks.

Its unique benefits include ultra-quiet usage and minimal draft to reduce partner disturbance as much as possible, while users can also choose between a number of different headgear options.

These come in addition to the unique self-inflating air-pillow and adjustment-free Stretchwise headgear that have helped to establish the popularity of previous Pilairo offerings.

Michael Daniell, Fisher and Paykel Healthcare's chief executive officer, said: "Pilairo Q builds on that success to provide additional options and benefits that enhance overall therapy performance including quieter use, less draft and a greater range of fit."

Last month, the firm announced that it has increased its earnings guidance for 2013 based on its stronger-than-expected performance so far this year.
