Bayer HealthCare appoint new chief executive
Bayer HealthCare has appointed Olivier Brandicourt as its new chief executive.
The 57-year-old has more than 25 year's worth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has spent the past three years as a member of Pfizer's executive leadership team.
Dr Marijn Dekkers, Bayer group chief executive, commented: "We have found a strong leader with outstanding international experience and a successful track record in the healthcare industry."
Dr Dekkers added he is convinced the new appointment will aid the growth of the German organisation's health care business.
Mr Brandicourt said he is looking forward to joining the Bayer team as it has an "excellent track record" for bringing innovation to the market.
The new chief executive will take up his position as of November 1st 2013 and replaces Professor Wolfgang Plischke who has lead Bayer HealthCare on an interim basis since March 2013 and will now return to his role as a Bayer AG Board Member.
