Sandoz’s European head named president of EGA

3rd October 2013

Sandoz has announced that Nick Haggar, the head of its western Europe, Middle East and Africa operations, has been voted president of the European Generic Medicines Association (EGA).

Mr Haggar will take on his new responsibilities with the European generic medicines industry body on October 8th 2013 in addition to his existing role at Sandoz, aiding the organisation's efforts to promote generic and biosimilar medicines across the EU.

The EGA was founded in 1993 and is dedicated to communicating the value, safety and efficacy of these low-cost medicines.

Mr Haggar's appointment was described as a personal honour and a recognition of the work Sandoz does in making generic medicines more widely available to patients.

Jeff George, global head of Sandoz, said: "We look forward to continuing to support the EGA and the industry in how best to make generic and biosimilar medicines available to more patients throughout Europe."

Last month, the company announced the UK launch of SurePal, a new delivery device designed to optimise the administration of its Omnitrope human growth hormone product.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801645416-ADNFCR
