Carestream Dental launches cloud version of CS WinOMS

Carestream Dental has announced that it will be launching a new cloud-based version of its popular practice management software offering CS WinOMS.

Unveiled at the annual meeting of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Orlando, the new hosted platform allows oral and maxillofacial surgeons to manage their practice from any internet-connected location.

By storing all applications, data and patient information in the cloud, users can access relevant data from any device 24/7, while sensitive patient and practice management files will be backed up and maintained by Carestream Dental.

Users can also rest assured that they will always be using the latest version of the software, negating the need to manually download updates.

Marc Gordon, general manager for US equipment and software at Carestream Dental, said: "We first introduced a hosted version of our orthodontic practice management software earlier this year and now we're expanding our hosted solution to CS WinOMS."

Last month, the company announced that its CS 8100 digital panoramic imaging system was selected as the bronze winner in the dental instruments, equipment and supplies category at the 2013 Medical Design Excellence Awards.
