UCB to present immunology data at EULAR 2014

9th June 2014

UCB has announced plans to sponsor 25 data presentations at this week's European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) annual congress in Paris.

The company will be sharing the latest advances from its immunology portfolio, spanning a broad spectrum of rheumatic diseases, including the latest clinical data on its approved drug Cimzia in several indications.

Results from several trials will demonstrate the drug's efficacy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and axial spondyloarthritis. The presentations will include the first study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Cimzia in early rheumatoid arthritis.

Meanwhile, scientific data will also be shared on epratuzumab, an investigational therapy for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus.

Professor Dr Iris Loew-Friedrich, chief medical officer and executive vice-president of UCB, said: "These presentations highlight our ongoing research, with the ultimate aim of providing new data insights and developing innovative treatment options to address the unmet needs of people living with severe immunological diseases."

During the first quarter of 2014, the company saw year-on-year growth of five percent. Cimzia was a key driver of this improvement, with the product's sales surging by 31 percent.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801726639-ADNFCR
