Takeda names new UK and Ireland head

Takeda has announced the appointment of long-serving employee Adam Zaeske as its new head for the UK and Ireland.

Mr Zaeske has been with Takeda for 11 years and has held a number of roles within the organisation, most recently serving as vice-president of managed markets and trade for the firm's US division.

Formerly a strategy consultant at Bain & Co and a finance manager at GE, he has experience of leading teams in marketing and sales, as well as launching primary care and specialty products in the gastroenterology, cardiovascular, metabolic, urology and central nervous system therapeutic areas.

In his new role, he will oversee the launch of innovative specialist medicines in areas such as irritable bowel disease and oncology.

Mr Zaeske said: "I am delighted to be joining the UK and Ireland team. The business is strong and is poised for several years of growth as we bring important new medicines forward to help patients that suffer from serious diseases."

This comes after the firm appointed Marc Princen as president of its European and Canadian business unit towards the end of last year.
