Roche reports positive data for non-Hodgkin lymphoma therapy

8th December 2015

Roche has reported positive safety and efficacy data supporting the use of Gazyva/Gazyvaro in the treatment of indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Results from the pivotal phase III GADOLIN study in people with indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma who relapsed during or within six months of treatment showed that the therapy was associated with deep remissions and provided meaningful quality of life improvements.

In a subgroup analysis of people with follicular lymphoma, treatment with Gazyva/Gazyvaro plus bendamustine was shown to provide significantly greater depth of remission at end of induction compared to bendamustine alone.

Follicular lymphoma patients are known to be a difficult-to-treat population, for whom treatment options are limited, making this an important new therapy.

Dr Sandra Horning, Roche's chief medical officer and head of global product development, said: "This follow-up data shows that Gazyva/Gazyvaro-based treatment achieves significant rates of deep remission, known as minimal residual disease negativity, at the end of induction treatment."

Marketing applications for the therapy have already been submitted to the US Food and Drug Administration and European Medicines Agency, among other regulators.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801807615-ADNFCR
