UCB reports strong growth in 2015
UCB has announced its financial results for the 2015 business year, during which it delivered a revenue total of 3.34 billion euros (2.6 billion pounds).
This represented a year-on-year increase of 16 percent, or nine percent on a constant exchange rate basis, with strong product growth driving top and bottom-line improvements.
The rise was driven by growing demand for newer therapies such as Cimzia, Vimpat, Neupro and Keppra, which accounted for 2.76 billion euros in sales between them. This was a 29 percent increase, meaning the products now account for 77 percent of UCB net sales.
In the coming months, the firm will proceed with the launch of Briviact and romosovumab, while also continuing to invest in new pipeline developments.
Jean-Christophe Tellier, chief executive officer of UCB, said: "Our patient value strategy aims to deliver superior value to patients. This will enable us to deliver significant growth to our shareholders."
In 2016, the company is expecting a revenue total of between 4.0 and 4.1 billion euros, while further improving its earnings performance.
