Roche to present new data on ocrelizumab at AAN 2016
Roche has announced that it will be sharing data on the investigational medicine ocrelizumab at the forthcoming American Academy of Neurology (AAN) annual meeting in Vancouver.
The company will attend the conference from April 15th to 21st to share results from three phase III studies of the drug, also known by the brand name Ocrevus, showing its efficacy in the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS).
Data from the analyses will demonstrate the superior efficacy of ocrelizumab across clinical and subclinical outcomes compared with an established comparator in people with relapsing MS, and compared with placebo in primary progressive MS.
Additionally, the results will show how the therapy is effective in helping patients to achieve No Evidence of Disease Activity status, indicating no relapses, no disability progression and no new or enlarging MRI lesions over a specified time interval.
Dr Sandra Horning, Roche's chief medical officer and head of global product development, said: "The analyses demonstrate ocrelizumab's consistent effect across important measures of disease activity and provide further insights into the clinical effect of ocrelizumab in people with MS."
