Bayer HealthCare ranked as world’s most reputable pharma company
Bayer HealthCare has been evaluated as the world's most reputable pharmaceutical company in an independent report from the Reputation Institute.
The consulting and advisory firm's Pharma RepTrak list for 2015 was compiled after conducting more than 15,000 interviews in 15 countries to understand how the general public views the industry and its largest companies.
Bayer came top of the list, followed by Roche, Abbott Laboratories, Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Completing the top 12 were Novo Nordisk, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sanofi, Merck Sharp and Dohme and Novartis.
These rankings were compiled after asking consumers for their views on the innovation, leadership, governance, citizenship, workplace, performance and product/service standards of pharmaceutical companies.
Kasper Ulf Nielsen, the report's author and executive partner at the Reputation Institute, said: "Pharmaceutical companies need to communicate more about who they are as companies, how they are addressing healthcare challenges in local markets, and what they are doing to bring meaningful innovation to patients."
Bayer HealthCare recorded double-digit growth in the first quarter of 2015, thanks to strong sales of newer products such as Xarelto, Eylea, Stivarga, Xofigo and Adempas.
