BioMerieux launches EviSight Compact microbial incubation system

BioMerieux has announced the launch of EviSight Compact, an automated diagnostic solution that offers microbial detection capabilities for pharmaceutical production.

This intelligent incubator system offers real-time culture media readings and combines incubation, intelligent automated detection and enumeration functions for colonies of bacteria, yeasts and moulds in a single system.

Its kinetic reading capabilities and high-magnification digital imaging technology allow high-resolution colour images of the microbial cultures to be taken every 30 minutes, with algorithms analysing the images and enabling the detection of colonies at early growth stages.

Alert and action level settings are highly customisable, facilitating the real-time flagging of out-of-specification results, thereby saving production time. Additionally, it works with ordinary ready-to-use plates and filters, allowing easy implementation and validation.

This launch results from BioMerieux's acquisition of the company Advencis in October 2014, with the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Benelux, the US, Canada and India to be the first markets to receive the product.
