Norbrook Laboratories’ Thyronorm wins award for ease of administration

Norbrook Laboratories has won the International Cat Care Easy to Give Award for its Thyronorm oral solution for cats.

The treatment, which was launched last year and is the only liquid therapy for the long-term management of feline hyperthyroidism, was tested by a panel of more than 50 owners and veterinary surgeons.

It was awarded the Easy to Give recognition for its palatability and usability, as well as the advantages it offers compared to tablet-based therapies, which cats often find unpleasant to take.

Thyronorm can be titrated to effect, meaning the dose of treatment can be varied to suit the health needs of the individual cat.

Dr Rachel Crowe, senior manager for companion animal products at Norbrook Laboratories, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have won the award for Thyronorm, and to know that owners of hyperthyroid cats can maintain the bond with their pet by using such an easy-to-give formulation, is the icing on the cake."

This is the third product manufactured by Norbrook to win this award, with Loxicom oral suspension for cats claiming the prize in 2015 and Noroclav Chewable Tablets winning in 2016.
