Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
This is a regional field-based Medical Field Service Engineer position covering the South of England, supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities with the servicing, repair, commissioning, and validation of decontamination equipment. The role combines hands-on engineering, customer-facing technical support, and structured documentation within a quality-driven environment, with direct involvement in patient safety–critical systems.

Role Requirements
Carry out routine servicing, repairs, commissioning, testing, and validation of decontamination equipment.
Act as first-line technical support for customers, providing telephone and on-site assistance.
Attend customer sites to assess faults, investigate recurring issues, and implement corrective actions or modifications.
Advise customers on utilities, services, and operational requirements for equipment use.
Support upgrades, retrofits, safety recalls, and technical modifications as required.
Complete validation reports, service documentation, and administrative records accurately and in a timely manner.
Work closely with internal teams to ensure service quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Attend training courses as required to maintain and expand product knowledge.
Person Specifications
Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical Installation or Engineering (Prefered).
Engineering experience, ideally within medical, laboratory, or regulated environments.
Comfortable working with electrical and electromechanical equipment in confined spaces.
Calm, methodical approach to fault-finding and problem resolution.
Strong written and IT skills for reporting and validation documentation.
GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Science or Technical subject preferred).
Experience in medical decontamination or healthcare engineering is advantageous but not essential.
