Animal medicines on Brussels agenda

31st May 2018

Animal health industry and European Parliament have gathered in Brussels to address key points that will enable the continuous supply of animal medicines in the EU and UK post Brexit.
Animal Health representative Roxane Feller drew attention to the following key points:
• Ensuring animal medicines can continue to be accessed
• Ensuring the collaboration of transboundary diseases is still maintained
• Further innovation in the Animal Health sector is still encourages.
It was also highlighted that the continuation of dual labelling is critical. If dual labelling with the UK cannot continue with any EU state, vets, farmers and pet owners who rely on the availability of medicinal products would suffer a significant interruption in treatments.
