No clarity for parents on children’s oral health needs
Research conducted by Mydentist shows that a quarter of adults don’t think it matters if their children develop problems with their baby teeth.
Parents have also admitted to confusion with half saying that wouldn’t know how much fluoride should be in their toothpaste, and half the parents in the UK stop helping their children brush their teeth too early.
Nyree Whitely, Group Clinical director for Mydentist said that there’s a ‘common misconception that baby teeth don’t matter’ when actually baby teeth are a ‘holding space for the adult teeth, and are essential for speech and structuring the face.’
“Children with a good brushing technique from a young age can set them up for a lifetime of good oral hygiene.” mentions Nyree.
