Jurox launches AceSedate

Jurox has launched its new product, AceSedate, for premedication, sedation and tranquilisation of cats and dogs, with best results achieved if it is combined with an opioid. This addition to Jurox’s anaesthesia and analgesia portfolio contains acepromazine, a long-acting sedative agent, which behaves like a dopamine receptor antagonist providing calming effects. It causes sedation and anxiolysis, and is metabolised in the liver. It should last around six hours in healthy patients. Acepromazine comes in amber vials because it is light sensitive and loss of efficacy is possible if it is not stored in light-resistant containers.
