Sean Bohen to leave AstraZeneca

25th January 2019

AstraZeneca’s chief medical officer Sean Bohen has resigned from his post, and there have been suggestions that he will be leaving AZ altogether after less than 4 years’ service. Mr Bohen came to AstraZeneca from Roche Holding AG’s Genentech division to head up clinical trials, and will remain CMO until the company names a successor. He is also executive vice president for global medicines development.
This announcement follows the recent departures of both Mark Mallon, former Executive Vice President, Global Product and Portfolio Strategy, Medical Affairs and Corp. Affairs at AZ, and Bahija Jallal, former President, MedImmune and Executive Vice President at AZ, who both commenced new roles outside of AZ this month.
