Bayer introduces Coraxis™ for dogs

30th January 2019

Bayer Animal Health is launching a new product called Coraxis™ (moxidectin) Topical Solution for Dogs, which should be available from February. Coraxis is a prescription only drug that prevents heartworm disease and treats and controls hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms in dogs, and should be administered monthly under the instructions of a vet. It offers heartworm protection for 30 days and gives vets more flexibility when creating a treatment plan for dogs to protect them against parasites.
Robert Zolynas, Head of Research and Development North America for Bayer Animal Health, said: “Coraxis™ is a unique addition to the veterinarian’s anti-parasite toolbox. Its transdermal formulation is rapidly absorbed, achieving and sustaining high plasma levels of moxidectin to continuously kill incoming heartworm larvae for thirty days. This important feature along with its broad-spectrum intestinal worm protection, make it a versatile and useful product.”
