Carestream Health’s information systems business to be bought by Philips
Royal Philips is to acquire Carestream Health’s healthcare information systems business, and its current employees, which will see Carestream’s platform, including the Vendor Neutral Archive, diagnostic and enterprise viewers, and business analytics tools becoming part of the Philips portfolio in the Diagnosis & Treatment unit.
Robert Cascella, Royal Philips’ precision diagnosis chief business leader, said: “The combination of our successful innovations in imaging system platforms, workflow optimisation and artificial intelligence-enabled informatics, combined with Carestream’s Cloud-based enterprise imaging informatics platform and complementary geographic footprint, will provide a solid foundation to deliver on the promise of precision diagnosis. The acquisition is expected to provide customers with access to a broader portfolio of healthcare IT solutions.”
