Ultrasonic scaler technology comes to Dentsply Sirona treatment centres

11th April 2019

Peri-implantitis is an infectious disease that causes a destructive inflammatory process in soft tissue and bone loss around a dental implant. Microleakage from implants can also contribute to implant infection. Ultrasonic scaling is pivotal in stopping the progression of periodontitis and peri-implantitis.
Now Dentsply Sirona’s Innovative Intego treatment centres offer the Cavitron Ultrasonic Scaling System with the Steri-Mate 360 handpiece. This rotating handpiece is detachable and autoclavable, facilitaing total control of cross-contamination. Intego treatment centres have a network interface in the dental chair and USB connections in the dentist’s Element that enable digital updates and the use of additional applications with an intuitive user interface provided by the Easytouch touchscreen. The Intego Pro ambidextrous model has an integrated infection prevention system and automated cleaning functions whilst Ergomotion provides synchronised movement of the patient’s spine with no headrest readjustment. Its rotation mechanism takes a mere 15 seconds to convert it from right-hand to left-hand operation. The treatment centres have features such as a double articulating headrest, external device connection, a multifunctional syringe, maintenance-free electric motors, LED operating lights and the integrated Cavitron Ultrasonic Scaler.
