Sanofi and Google to collaborate and create a virtual innovation lab through AI

Sanofi and Google have reached an agreement to create a virtual innovation lab in a bid to transform how future medicines are health services are delivered.
The collaboration hopes to increase Sanofi’s operational efficiency, improve the experience of Sanofi’s patients and have a better understanding of diseases.
Ameet Nathwani, MD, chief digital officer, chief medical officer & executive vice president, medical at Sanofi, said on the collaboration “Combining our innovations and data with Googles pioneering technology and industry lead capabilities allows us the opportunity to transform healthcare, and accelerate the discover of new therapies.”
Google’s technology and analytics will be applied to Sanofi’s database, where the aim is to gain a better understanding of the disease and what treatments work for patients. From their findings, they hope to improve their ability to be able to offer a more personalised treatment advice, and at the same time reduce healthcare costs.
Artificial Intelligence and cloud migration are also on the agenda for Sanofi. These changes will allow for better sales forecasting, Marketing, and operational cost efficiency, as well as support the innovation lab and other business objectives.
