King’s College London dental school in top end of global rankings again

The most recent Shanghai Ranking Consultancy global survey has put King’s College London’s dental school in the top end of the rankings again this year. In 2017, it came in at 7th place, followed by a 5th place ranking in 2018. Now 2019 has taken them one step further, with a 4th place ranking in the world for dentistry and oral sciences research. King’s College London was also the only European institution ranked in the top ten, and the only one located outside the US to get into the top eight places.
Executive Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at King’s College, Professor Mike Curtis, said: “The faculty at King’s feels tremendously proud to increase our high standing in the Shanghai rankings. To be ranked fourth in world and the only institution from Europe in the top ten is a remarkable achievement which rewards the effort, dedication and expertise of a wide group of staff from multiple disciplines. This recognition feels just reward for our focus on delivering excellence in dental education to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and world-leading research activity in clinical dentistry and oral and craniofacial sciences. The success of the institution owes much to the collaborative working between our staff, our students and our administrative staff who have collectively earned this important accolade.”
