Boehringer collaborate with Bridge Biotherapeutic

Boehringer Ingelheim have joined forces with Bridge Biotherapeutics to develop autotaxin inhibitor BBT-77 in order to treat patients with intersititial lung diseases including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)
CEO of Bridge Biotherapeutics James lee commented “we’re pleased to partner with Boehringer Ingelhiem who are a recognised leader in IPF. Their expertise will ensure that our inhibitor can be developed and potentially address the medical need of IPF sufferers worldwide.”
Under the collaboration Bridge Biotherapeutics will secure and up from payment of £40.5 m and based on the achievement of the development, regularity and commercial milestones, of the product, they potentially could secure over £990m, as well as receive double digit royalties.
The BBT-877 us under phase one clinical studies, and is expected to move onto phase two testing within a year.
