Continued Growth in Adults Seeking Orthodontic Treatment
British Orthodontic Society (BOS) have revealed that dental practices are seeing an increase in the number of adults seeking orthodontic treatment within the UK.
The majority of orthodontic patients are aged between 26 and 55 years old, with 80% of the patients being female.
The following braces provided to patients was revealed to be the following:
• Over 75% supply fixed braces with clear aesthetic brackets
• Over 30% supply lingual braces (fixed behind the teeth)
• 70% supply clear aligners.
Peter McCallum, BOS director of external relations commented “It’s interesting to see that there is still a high level of adults interested in orthodontic treatments. With the wide range of options available a solution can be provided to any kind of orthodontic problem,”
