Lucid’s approach to flexible working.

Lucid Group introduced a new idea over the summer months whereby staff were actively encouraged to think about how to use their working hours during the week to maximise the opportunity to extend their summer weekends by leaving at 2pm on alternate Friday afternoons throughout July and August. These so-called Summer Fridays were introduced to enhance the company’s approach to flexible working. Staff have reported numerous good uses they have found for leaving early every other Friday, from doing their bit within school communities to having a longer weekend break, and of course the simple tradition of taking it easy and having a longer weekend to relax into.
HR Director at Lucid, Angela Young, said: “At Lucid we are committed to agile working. Summer Fridays have allowed everyone to optimise their work-life balance by managing their workload to give themselves a little more weekend.”
