Siemens launches Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro
Siemens Healthineers has introduced Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro, two CT systems that can aid workflow in radiotherapy planning procedures and make the process more accurate. The superior CT images help radiation oncologists to identify, more precisely plan, and treat the target tumor more accurately, which consequently allows for better protection of surrounding tissue and organs.
Both Somatom go. Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro feature optional Direct Laser, used to mark the patient’s position for treatment in the CT, making later positioning in the linear accelerator quicker and more accurate, and also the DirectORGANS® for OAR contouring software that automatically addresses the dependency between image quality and the consistency of auto contouring results.
Head of Radiation Oncology at Siemens Healthineers, Dr. Gabriel Haras, said: “We developed Somatom go.Sim and Somatom go.Open Pro in intensive cooperation with world leading radiotherapy experts. I firmly believe that these systems will help healthcare providers to overcome challenges in planning radiation therapy and drive forward precision medicine in the fight against cancer.”
