Vaccine for brucellosis in cattle released
B19 CZV Ocular, a vaccine that provides active immunisation of bovin brucellosis has been released.
Suitable for bovine brucellosis and eradication programmes, the advantage of the new vaccine is that it’s very easy to administer, and it doesn’t have any notable differences in respect to the subcutaneaous method. Jose Maria Blasco, a leading authority on brucellosis added, “B19 CZV Ocular gives several clear advantages to the veterinary services that use it. It can be administered in a programme that combines vaccination and eradication, or used exclusively in a programme of control based on large scale vaccination of all susceptible animals.
The vaccine pack comes with a powder and solvent that will be mixed together along with a dropper and instructions on how to administer.
