The Identification of Novel Biomarkers to advance with Thermo Fisher and Owlstone Medical collaboration.

A collaboration between Owlstone Medical and Thermo Fisher Scientific has been formed, to use non-invasive breath sampling conducted through novel biomarkers, in order to advance the initial diagnoses of cancer, using the former’s Breath Biopsy platform and Orbitrap GC-MS. The combination of both instruments will allow Thermo Fisher’s mass to discover new biomarkers through a routine analysis project and discovery. The early diagnosis of cancer and diseases will advance through the new collaboration, as the analytical methods will be used to gather metabolomics studies of breath samples for biomarkers, which could potentially turn into non-invasive screening solutions.
