Hepatitis A and B vaccine can’t be parallel exported.

The hepatitis A and B vaccine has joined the growing list of medicines that the Department of Health and Social Care has declared can no longer be parallel exported from the UK. It joins the likes of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine, alogliptin/metformin, misoprostol and the pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine, and brings the number of medicines on the list to 32.

Any medicine wholesalers and manufacturers who don’t comply with the restrictions and are convicted of procuring one or more of the medicines on the list intended for patients in the UK and selling them at an inflated price elsewhere in the world, could potentially have their wholesale license instantly removed, or any other regulatory action that the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency considers appropriate.
