A new revolutionary app called vPOP-pro designed for orthopaedic surgeons

Veterinarian, Rory Paton, has designed a state-of-the-art, retina resolution, cloud based multiplatform app. The Veterinary Preoperative Orthopaedic Planner (vPOP-pro), has been developed to revolutionise the way vets practice surgery and plan their orthopaedic operations. Through multiple devices including, mobile phones, laptops and computers, vets can share their results with colleagues and clients before going into theatre. Providing a Digital Imaging Communications in Medicine (DICOM) friendly solution for vets, the VPOP-pro includes implant templates and an extensive toolkit that allows vets to create and integrate custom measurements. It also aids to eliminate heavy workloads through allowing the surgeon to access and navigate the app to perform tasks in any location with internet.

Rory Paton, a Veterinarian, stated: “I needed an accessible planning solution wherever I was. Patients’ problems and the ideas to fix them come to you at all times of the day and in different places, but I couldn’t find anything that suited my needs. I drew up the idea and commissioned the app for personal use. However, when my colleagues saw it, they asked where I got it from. When they discovered it was a personal commission, a small group of European College of Veterinary Surgeons specialists and CertAVP surgeons asked to invest in the product to bring it to market.
