The PDA have recovered over 50K in unpaid fees owed to locum pharmacists

19th December 2019

Throughout this year, The Pharmacists’ Defence Association (PDA) have been recovering unpaid fees, owed to locum pharmacists, from independent contractors to high street giants, and have so far collected over fifty-thousand pounds. The companies involved stated that they haven’t been paying the fees due to multiple issues.

Director of the PDA, Paul Day, stated: “Sometimes people will say it is a technical issue with invoices for example. But we don’t judge people’s reasons, pharmacists are entitled to their pay. This is money which is owed, it is not compensation; this is money which is a fundamental cost, it shouldn’t be about people choosing not to pay. These are contractual obligations.”
