Pharmacy technicians in England have been given access to the ACPT programme

Each and every pharmacy technician in England can now access the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education’s ‘Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician’ (ACPT) programme, which is entirely funded by NHS England’s pharmacy integration fund. The programme, which has been designed to enhance the pharmacy technician’s skills, behaviours and knowledge needed to safely provide final accuracy checks, can take as long as a year of development and coaching depending on how concentrated the student wants their course to be.

CPPE’s website states: “The programme aims to support pharmacy technicians to develop the skills required to be a safe final accuracy checking pharmacy technician, improve leadership skills to direct the dispensary team, [and] support the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient facing services.”
