This year’s PM Society Awards results

Thirty independent health care/pharmaceutical companies and twenty-one different agencies won either a gold, silver or bronze award during the PM Society Awards 2020, held on the 24th of January at Grosvenor House in Mayfair, London. The show was stolen by two excellent winners: VCCP, who won six gold awards with two pharmaceutical partners and Havas Lynx Group, who received an impressive seven gold awards for six different clients across the workplace.

Despite the limelight, gold awards were handed to many other companies, including Havas Life Medicom, McCann Health, HealthCircle, Verve, Syneos Health and Envision Pharma Group.

Furthermore, while Reckitt Benckiser won two gold awards, Roche won two silver and gold awards. Also, Teva and Edwards Lifesciences received one silver and four gold awards each, which made them joint top of the pharma charts. Besides that, the other gold winners among the limelight were Janssen, Heart UK, Immunocore, Novo Nordisk, ALK, Mundipharma and Santen.

Furthermore, Head Judge, Oliver Caporn, selected VCCP’s ‘Hairspray’ film from their ‘Act of Love’ campaign, developed for Teva, for this year’s ‘Best of Show.’

He stated: “Although not the most awarded entry in the show, it won its own category hands down and has stuck with me since the first time I saw it. An emotional, well written, beautifully cast and directed film, not just for pharma but by any standards. Clever use of misdirection and humour keep the viewer engaged from the first frame. Then that final twist surprises and delights and brings a lump to the throat. But the crucial ingredient when judging was that it made me wish I had done it.”
