PHE attempts to encourage weight loss with their better health campaign

28th July 2020

Public Health England has recently launched a health campaign to reset the nation’s well-being, following on from the recent Government announcement on plans to tackle obesity with their ‘Better Health’ campaign, which will appear across digital, radio and TV channels.

The pandemic has made the public more conscious of their health, providing an unprecedented chance for people to address their weight and health by drinking less, eating healthier, looking after their mental health and quitting smoking.

The Better Health campaign will concentrate on providing resources and tools to assist people in losing weight, due to 63% of UK adults being overweight or obese. The plan includes discounts with several well-known weight management providers and a new NHS twelve-week weight loss programme app.

PHE is requesting community pharmacy teams to support the campaign, acknowledging their unparalleled ability to reach vulnerable groups.
