Shimmer Research to offer updates for its Verisense wearable sensing platform

Shimmer Research is offering updates for clinical trials on its Verisense wearable sensing platform, and OWEAR, the Open Wearables Initiative, at the DPHARM Virtual Conference.

The Verisense platform, which provides sponsors with raw sensor data from clinical trial participants, has been developed to meet the needs of all the stakeholders, clinical research organisations, sponsors, participants and trial sites.

In under five minutes, a new participant can be set up on the Verisense platform by a member of staff at the clinical trial site. Furthermore, if the participant’s sensor isn’t being worn correctly, the sensor’s power is low, or the base station is unplugged, the staff receive notifications.

Furthermore, for clinical trial participants, the sensor was designed to be a no-hassle, low-stress system. Also, since the battery lasts for up to six months, it does not require regular charging, and its data is automatically transferred to a remote cloud network without any patient involvement.
